In what must be a first of its kind, a patron of the adult website Pornhub is suing the site over its failure to include captions for the hearing impaired on its videos.
Yaroslav Suris, who is deaf, is bringing the case on the grounds that the site is violating his rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
He alleges that the failure of the website to include the subtitles had undermined his enjoyment of the site. His court papers listed ‘Hot Step Aunt Babysits Disobedient Nephew’ and ‘Sexy Cop Gets Witness to Talk’ as examples of videos whose dialogue he had not been able to follow.
While reluctant to comment on an ongoing case, Corey Price, vice president of Pornhub, said the site did in fact maintain a ‘closed captions’ category for its patrons.
Numerous social media users found the matter highly amusing, questioning just how important understanding dialogue would be for the Pornhub experience.
