Country music icon, Kenny Rogers, has died at the age of 81.

His family announced yesterday that he had died at his home in Georgia. His family would mourn him in a private ceremony. Due to the Covid-19 crisis the family said that a service open to the public would be held at a later date.

Rogers enjoyed a career that spanned 60 years, dabbling in genres other than country, such as jazz and pop, as well as acting. He was also known for his collaborations with other artists, notably Dolly Parton, with whom he recorded the duet, ‘Islands in the Stream.’

Rogers, who was married five times, is survived by his wife, Wanda Miller, and five children, ranging in age from 14 to 60.
