More than 30 have died and dozens are reported missing in the wildfires raging across the West Coast states of America.

Tens of thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes by fires in Oregon, California and Washington which have burned millions of acres of land and destroyed thousands of homes, the BBC reported.

Democratic presidential challenger Joe Biden warned on Saturday that ‘climate change poses an imminent, existential threat to our way of life’, and accused President Donald Trump, a climate sceptic, of denying ‘that reality’.

Trump, who was due to visit California today to be briefed on the latest situation, has blamed the wildfires on poor forest management.

Officials says the fires have so far scorched an area of land the size of New Jersey.
