An investigation has been initiated at the Nelson Mandela Foundation following allegations made by a ‘whistleblower’.

This is according to reports carried by eNCA.

The whistleblower has not been identified, but the allegations are said to be directed at senior management and to include ‘staff victimisation, nepotism and a general climate of fear’. The investigation is being undertaken by law firm Bowman Gilfillan.

Professor Njabulo Ndebele, chairperson of the foundation, confirmed the investigation. In an internal memo seen by eNCA, Prof Ndebele said that staff should allow the investigation to proceed.
