Ramiro Alanis, a personal trainer from Florida, has become the first person in the world officially recognized to have attended 191 theatrical screenings of the block buster film Avengers: Endgame.
The Guinness World Records officially acknowledged Alanis’ achievement,awarding him a certificate acknowledging him as the world record holder on 17 March 2021. According to the certificate, he completed his remarkable feat of film watching on 29 July 2019, only three months after the film was released.
In an interview with Guinness, Alanis said: ‘The most difficult part about this attempt was giving up my social life with my family, and the gym (I lost 16 pounds of muscle), and managing my work hours and screening times at the theaters.’
Alanis said he got the idea after watching YouTuber NemRaps break the previous record by watching Avengers: Infinity War, the prequel to Endgame, 100 times.
With a run time of 181 minutes per screening, Alanis spent 34 571 minutes (576 hours or 24 days) watching the film in the space of three months.
