The South African Government has given a number of Lesotho diplomats 72 hours to leave the country.
The diplomats had allegedly been illegally selling duty-free alcohol.
It has previously been reported in the Daily Friend that Lesotho diplomats were illegally selling duty-free alcohol as a way of making ends meet at their cash-strapped diplomatic outpost.
The South African government has declared the diplomats ‘persona non grata’ and the Lesotho foreign ministry expressed its ‘disappointment and embarrassment’. It also said disciplinary action would be taken against the diplomats.
