A 32-year-old Florida man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly trying to throw a live alligator onto a roof.

William Hodge was arrested by police from Daytona Beach Shores after being seen grabbing the alligator by its tail, hitting it against a nearby building, throwing it to the ground, stomping on it and then attempting to throw it onto the roof of a building.

When questioned by police, Hodge allegedly said he had found the alligator at a nearby miniature golf course and that he was ‘teaching it a lesson’.

Hodge faces charges of possession and injury of an alligator, unarmed burglary and criminal mischief.
