Annual inflation in South Africa reached its lowest level in three years in July, at 4.6%, according to Stats SA.

In June, inflation had been recorded at 5.1%.

Month-on-month inflation was recorded at 0.4%.

The province with the highest inflation for July was the Western Cape at 5.1%, while Limpopo recorded the lowest increase in prices, at 3.9%.

Analysts believe this could lead to the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) starting to lower interest rates soon, with inflation at the midpoint of its target range of between three and six percent.
