Bolivia has severed diplomatic ties with Israel because of the ongoing conflict between it and Hamas.
Bolivia has also called for a ceasefire and said it would be supplying the besieged Gaza Strip with aid.
The South American nation said it was cutting ties with the Jewish state because of what it called an ‘aggressive and disproportionate’ military campaign in Gaza.
It is the first Latin American country to cut ties with Israel, although the presidents of Brazil and Colombia have also criticised Israel’s actions.
Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the President of Brazil, said on X, formerly Twitter: ‘We are seeing, for the first time, a war in which the majority of those killed are children… Stop! For the love of God, stop!’
The Israeli military action is a response to an attack by Hamas on Israel, which saw over 1 000 people killed and over 200 people kidnapped.
