Former president and uMkhonto weSizwe Party leader, Jacob Zuma, says that the ANC is not able to expel him from the party, the Jacob Zuma Foundation said in a statement.

Despite leading the party that acts as the official Opposition, Zuma claims to remain a member of the ANC.

The statement said: “H. E. President Zuma strongly rejects the notion that the ANC under the leadership of President Cyril Ramaphosa has the authority to expel him from the movement to which he has dedicated his life.”

It also said that Zuma was “fully engaged in his political and social commitments”, detailing matters related to the MKP.

Zuma will consult with his legal representatives and various others “to deliberate on the way forward”.
