Mohamed al-Fayed, an Egyptian billionaire who used to own the iconic British company, Harrods, has been accused by a number of women of rape and sexual assault.

Fayed, who died last year at the age of 94, has been accused by more than 20 women, with the incidents happening in Paris and London. At least five women have claimed he raped them. The accusations came to light in a new podcast by the BBC.

Fayed had previously been accused of sexual assault but a 2015 police investigation cleared him.

Fayed’s son, Dodi, was a close friend of Princess Diana, and was killed with her in the infamous Parisian car crash in 1997.

Fayed sold Harrods in 2010 for £1.5 billion to the Qatar government.
