A red level 10 warning was issued by the South African Weather Services for eastern parts of Mpumalanga and Limpopo as Cyclone Eloise headed across Mozambique at the weekend.

The weather services reported heavy rainfall in Mozambique on Sunday.

Disaster management teams at the Kruger National Park are on high alert. A number of roads were closed, and bushveld camps evacuated, because of flooding.

Kruger National Park spokesperson Ike Phaahla urged residents and visitors to be extra cautious.
