A man in Miami, Florida, has been charged with attempted murder and armed assault after he allegedly attacked two people with a machete during an argument about his car.
On 9 February, Yosmel Galan, who is thirty-two, allegedly went to the business next door to his workplace to confront a man there about his car being dirtied. An argument ensued. Local police said that during the argument Galan demanded the man wash his car. When the man refused Galan left the premises.
Police say that 30 minutes later, Galan returned wielding a machete, and attacked the man and another person inside the store whilst their backs were turned. He is alleged to have hit them around the head and neck several times with the machete before the shouts of witnesses caused him to flee. He abandoned the machete as he fled the scene.
Both victims survived, but one had an injury to his neck and right eye. The other suffered a head injury that required staples.
Galan was arrested later that day.
