According to Critical Race Theory (CRT), the fate of individuals is decided not by their character, not by their ability, determination, hard work and will, but entirely by what race they belong to. Hitler had a similar view. If blacks in the USA do worse than whites at school and work, or commit more crime than whites, or have worse family life, that is because of the white racist power structure. Individual blacks have no will of their own, no ability to improve their lot, and cannot be blamed for any crime they commit. According to CRT, blacks are just cogs in a systemic white racist machine.
If this is what CRT says about African Americans, what does it say about Asian Americans?
In America, Asians have higher IQs than whites, do better at school and university than whites, earn more money, commit less crime, and have a better family life. Does CRT believe that the systemic white racist power structure has made Asians more successful than whites? If you see an Asian student winning an award at an Ivy League University, should you say, “Ha, she only came top of the class because of systemic white racism.” What is the motive for white racists to make another race more successful than themselves?
Belief in individualism
If you don’t believe in CRT, if you believe all humans are of the same worth regardless of sex or race, if you believe in the sovereignty of the individual, then the success of Asian Americans is easy to explain. They are disciplined and law-abiding, they have a strong family life, they work hard, and they don’t feel inferior to anyone else. Why is this? It seems to come from their history and culture. There is no reason other races cannot develop a similar culture of discipline, resourcefulness and self-worth.
Perhaps the higher IQs of Asians is innate, but for long periods in the past Asian countries were conquered and colonised by Europeans, with lower IQs. This suggests IQ is not a good indicator of the power or success of different races.
The greatest problem for African Americans is the lack of a father for children. This leads to failure at school and work, criminal activity in adulthood and early pregnancy for black girls. In 1865 black family life in the USA was as strong as white family life. It was almost unknown for black babies to be born out of wedlock. This continued until about 1950, and from then on black family life disintegrated. Most black children grow up without fathers now. What happened?
Undermining of confidence
It seems that the forerunners of CRT began a determined campaign to undermine black self-confidence. Many of the campaigners, probably most, were whites of Marxist persuasion who hated the West, hated capitalism, hated the family, and loved the state. Social workers, socialist academics and woke politicians began to persuade young black girls that the family was a patriarchal unit of Western oppression. It was uncool. If they had a baby out of wedlock, it was just as well if the father ran away, because the state would look after the mother and child through social welfare. Young black men warmed to the idea. Studying hard at school and getting a good job was “acting white”, uncool for a spirited young black. If young black men committed crimes (overwhelmingly against other blacks), it was not their fault and they could not be blamed. It was the fault of the Western, capitalist, white power structure. Criminals became the heroes and models for many black children. The rot spread through black communities. CRT is the culmination of this process, which has been going on for about 70 years.
Asian Americans are immune to these destructive ideas. This is mainly because of their cultural history, which gives them self-confidence and the ability to spot nonsense when they see it. It is also because the CRT campaigners, who are racists, dislike Asians and never try to engage them. CRT cannot explain the success of Asian Americans and so ignores it – angrily. It is striking that racist attacks against Asians in America come mostly from black Americans.
Racism of CRT
The racist filth of CRT is penetrating South Africa, where black South Africans are as vulnerable to it as black Americans, notably in the tragedy of absent fathers. The racism industry is lucrative. You can win fame by peddling CRT and make lots of money too. Apparently Ibram Xolani Kendi (formerly Ibram Henry Rogers) has made a fortune from his books on the evils of white racism; one of them was distributed to every sailor in the US Navy. Locally, enterprising racism entrepreneurs are making money by selling “Diversity Courses,” and persuading the HR departments of big corporations to subscribe to them. As in the USA, there is no shortage of rich, privileged, cringing whites who long to bend the knee to CRT. (These are the whites that are in favour of affirmative action and demographic representivity, and make sure their children go to schools with white teachers and no affirmative action).
In South Africa, too, Asians are successful. Should they be worried about it?
