A 22-year-old man from Florida, Taylor Beverly, allegedly led police on a wild police chase on his motorbike through the streets of Clearwater, Florida, whilst his date clung on behind him.

According to police, Beverly was carrying a woman, whom he was dating for the first time, on the back of his bike when he ran a red traffic light. Police attempted to pull him over to ticket him for jumping the light but say that Beverly tried to escape by driving away.

During the chase Beverly allegedly reached speeds of well over 160 km/h whilst he weaved his 2017 Suzuki bike through local traffic. He also allegedly continued to run red lights.

Eventually Beverly stopped the bike and was apprehended by police. Under questioning he said he was trying to impress his date. The woman in question said that she was screaming at Beverly the entire time to stop the bike, but he did not listen.

Beverly was arrested and is scheduled to appear in court, charged with a felony for fleeing cops at high speed with wanton disregard for the safety of others.

Beverly has allegedly been arrested previously for cocaine possession, probation violations, grand theft, and using a counterfeit cheque. He was previously charged in 2019 with reckless driving and driving an unregistered vehicle.
