Four brothers are contesting the same ward seat in Matatiele in the Eastern Cape.
The Ntabeni brothers will be battling it out to be elected the ward councillor for Ward 10 in the municipality.
Eldest brother, Loyiso, is the EFF candidate for the ward, with Siphamandla hoping to represent the ANC on the council after 1 November. Luyolo is standing as a candidate for the AIC, a party which has its roots in Matatiele. Finally, Vuyani is standing as an independent candidate.
In 2016 the ANC’s candidate won the ward, but with only 45% of the vote, with the AIC coming second with 27%, and the DA third, securing a fifth of the vote, which indicates that a tight battle between the brothers is likely on 1 November.
