Four Bengal Tigers which were recently rescued from poor conditions in Argentina have been released at the Lionsrock Big Cat Sanctuary, in the Free State.

The tigers had been kept for years in cramped conditions in train carriages in Argentina and were recently rescued by animal welfare authorities.

The journey to their new home took 70 hours and until they adjust to their new environment the tigers have been placed in 80 square meter enclosures until they are ready to be released in larger spaces.

For now the tigers will be monitored to determine if they are in need of any medical care.
