All charges against Mark Boucher, Proteas’ Head Coach, have been dropped by Cricket South Africa (CSA).

Boucher was due to face a disciplinary hearing next week after allegations of racism against him. This included having allegedly called former teammate, Paul Adams a ‘brown shit’, as well as having mistreated his former assistant coach, Enoch Nkwe. Concerns were also raised around how Boucher handled issues around the Black Lives Matter movement.

However, both Nkwe and Adams said they would not testify against Boucher.

CSA released a statement yesterday saying that there was ‘no basis’ to sustain the charges. The organisation would also contribute to Boucher’s legal costs.

In a statement Boucher said: ‘The last few months have been extremely difficult to endure for me and my family. I am glad that the process has finally come to an end and that CSA has accepted that the charges against me are unsustainable.’

Last month charges of racism were also found to be unfounded against Boucher former teammate and CSA colleague, Graeme Smith.

The Proteas’ next assignment is a T20I series against India in June, followed by a tour of England, beginning in July, which will consist of three Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
