Only four political parties made funding declarations, according to the latest funding report from the Electoral Commission (IEC).

Between April and June this year, the DA received nearly R16 million in funds, ActionSA received R750 000, while the ANC was the recipient of R10 million. The PA received R310 000.

The money the DA received included R15 million from Fynbos Ekwiteit, with the balance coming from a German political foundation, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, and a Dutch political party, the governing People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy.

ActionSA’s contribution was from two companies – Style Eyes of California (R600 000) and the Shave and Gibson Group.

The ANC received R10 million from one contributor, Botho-Botho Commercial Enterprises, which donated R10 million.

Both of the PA’s donations came from the party’s leader, Gayton McKenzie, who gave R310 000 in two tranches.
