ActionSA has said that it will not go into coalitions with the ANC. This followed an online poll asking its supporters to say which other political parties they thought ActionSA should work with.

The party that ActionSA supporters preferred to work with was the IFP, followed by the UDM, ACDP, and FF+, with the DA in fifth place.

The ANC was the least-favoured party, as rated by respondents, with the EFF being the second least-favoured party.

Michael Beaumont, the national chairperson of ActionSA, was quoted as saying: ‘…there can be no arrangement where an ANC government exists because of ActionSA, or an ANC government is kept in power because of ActionSA. South Africans were clear that ActionSA must provide an alternative, and there can be no co-governance with the ANC.’

In other ActionSA news, the party yesterday announced its new chairperson in the Western Cape. Michelle Wasserman, a former member of the DA and deputy mayor of Knysna, is now the party’s head in the province.
