Salman Rushdie, the renowned author who was attacked in August, has lost the sight in one eye as well as the use of a hand. This is according to his agent, Andrew Wylie.
He also had 15 separate wounds in his chest.
Rushdie was attacked at an event in New York State in August by a 24-year-old Muslim American, Hadi Matar.
Many Muslims consider one of Rushdie’s books, The Satanic Verses, as blasphemous, and he has faced death threats since the publication of that novel in the late 1980s.
Wylie did not reveal where Rushdie is convalescing.
