On Thursday a news website called Nour News, linked to the theocratic leaders of Iran, acknowledged reports by Bloomberg earlier in the week that the Iranian nuclear programme has enriched uranium by up to 86%.

Uranium used in nuclear reactors to generate electricity is enriched by 3%-5%, but in order for uranium to be used in a nuclear weapon it needs to reach enrichment levels of above 90%.  Iran insists that its uranium enrichment programme is purely for civilian purposes and that it is not pursuing nuclear weapons.
