Heavy shelling in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum last week interrupted efforts to deliver aid to civilians still trapped in the city.

The shelling came after the third truce negotiated between the Sudanese army and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia collapsed as the country’s most recent civil war continues.

The United Nations has warned that Sudan’s people are “facing a humanitarian catastrophe.”

Despite multiple attempts to negotiate a ceasefire by foreign powers the conflict appears to be spiraling towards a full-blown civil war which has already created a humanitarian crisis as millions of Sudanese flee the fighting.
