Production of missiles and artillery shells is to increase in North Korea, after the country’s dictator, Kim Jong-un, said that it must prepare for war.

Kim had recently concluded a tour of the country’s munition factories and said production must ‘drastically increase’.

‘Our army must thoroughly secure overwhelming military power and solid readiness to handle any war at any time, so that the enemy does not dare to use force, and would be annihilated if it does,’ Kim was quoted as saying.

This announcement comes days ahead of annual war drills held between the United States and South Korea which North Korea claims are a prelude to nuclear war.
