Annual inflation in February was at 5.6%, slightly higher than the 5.3% recorded in January.
In December, inflation was at 5.1%.
The increase in February was primarily driven by an increase in medical insurance costs.
Food inflation slowed somewhat in February, to 6.1%.
The higher-than-expected inflation could mean that interest rates will not come down as quickly or as soon as most economists have predicted.
