A new poll released by the Social Research Foundation (SRF) shows that the ANC continues to lose support.

In the latest poll, which surveyed nearly 2 000 people and had a 2.2% margin of error, the ANC had the support of 37% of respondents. This was in a scenario where voter turnout was about 66%.

The DA was the second-biggest party with 25% of the vote, with former President Jacob Zuma’s MK Party at 13%.

The EFF was at 10%, showing little growth since the last general election.

Other parties which had enough support to show up in the poll included the IFP (5%), the ACDP, FF+, and ActionSA, all on about two percent.

The SRF said that the results should not be surprising, as previous research had shown that a large minority of ANC voters were vulnerable to leaving the party. They could now have found their vehicle in the MK Party.

It also said that this was not a prediction, but a snapshot of the current state of play. Much could change before election day at the end of next month.
