The Winkelvoss twins, who were made infamous in the 2010 move, The Social Network, about the founding of Facebook, have invested in a low-level British club.

Cameron and Tyler Winkelvoss have invested in Real Bedford, with the two putting in about $4.5 million.

The goal is to turn the club into a Premier League Club.

The Winkelvoss twins rose to prominence after they accused Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, of stealing their idea. They are also two of the world’s first cryptocurrency billionaires.

Real Bedford is effectively in the 10th division of English football (if the Premier league is considered the first division).

The Winkelvoss investment will go to developing a training centre and an academy and supporting women’s and youth football with the long-term goal of getting the team into the Premier League.
