A man has been arrested in Lake County Florida after local police say he was caught trying to “free” horses from a local ranch.

On Wednesday, the ranch owner noticed that his horse stalls were open and the horses were loose. As the rancher was corralling the horses, they saw a man driving the ranch owner’s truck.

The man was stopped by the rancher and detained until police arrived.

The man told police his name was Mark Anthony Hunt and when asked why he was opening horse stalls, he claimed that he believed that horses shouldn’t be caged. He then told police that he had originally tried to leave the ranch by mounting one of the horses without a saddle but fell off.

These horses could be sold for up $80 000.

Hunt has been charged with burglary, grand theft auto and grand theft.
