Mazisole Mnqasela, the former speaker of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament, has launched a new political party.
The party, the Alliance of Citizens for Change (ACC), was launched over the weekend in Cape Town. The launch weas reportedly attended by about 400 people.
Mnqasela was expelled from the DA over allegations of fraud.
He was quoted as saying at the launch of his party: ‘We understand the importance of prioritising the well-being of our citizens and the greater good over personal gain. Our leaders are committed to taking responsibility for their actions and holding themselves accountable for any mistakes or failures. By embodying ethical leadership, we foster trust, transparency, and integrity in our government, ensuring that the voices and needs of our people are heard and addressed.’
He also said his party was ready for Parliament.
