A weapons shipment from Egypt has arrived in the Somalian capital, Mogadishu. This is according to Somali government officials.
This is the second Egyptian arms shipment in recent weeks as tensions between Somalia and its neighbour, Ethiopia, escalate.
The shipment included anti-aircraft guns and artillery, according to media reports.
Tensions in the Horn of Africa are rising. This follows the agreement between Somaliland and Ethiopia for the latter to lease a strip of coastland. Ethiopia is one of the biggest land-locked countries in the world.
Somaliland is considered by Somalia to be part of its territory but Somaliland considers itself independent, although this is not widely recognised by the international community. There have also been long-running tensions between Ethiopia and Egypt, especially over the Nile, following the construction by Ethiopia of a large dam on the river.
