Jacksonville, Florida police officers were dispatched to a local business on Sunday after a man claimed he had intentionally infected others with the coronavirus.
Witnesses said that the suspect, David White, approached a local business carrying a bottle labeled ‘Covid-19’. He allegedly sprayed the contents of the bottle on the entrance doors of the building.
White then allegedly informed the employees that they were now infected with Covid-19.
Police arrested White on charges of use, or attempted or threatened use of a weapon of mass destruction or hoax weapon of mass destruction.
Following the incident, officials said all precautions had been taken to ensure that the area was cleaned, and transmission prevented.
Police said the investigation into the incident was continuing.
