Around midnight on March 1st police were called to a petrol station in Naples, Florida after the petrol station attendant reported that a man had nearly crashed his car into a petrol pump and appeared to be under the influence.

When police arrived, they reported that a man called Demecio Lopez approached the officers and asked for help, as he claimed his car wouldn’t start. However the police noticed that there were no keys in the ignition.

Lopez claimed he did not have the keys to start the car and then pulled the car keys out of his pocket. The police asked for his driver’s license and Lopez allegedly rifled through his pockets again, this time pulling out a small green bag with “Dank Gummies cannabis-infused” written on the bag. The police asked if Lopez had shown them THC gummies and Lopez claimed it was normal candy, but when the police asked him to hand over the bag they noticed it was labelled as containing 500mg THC.

Police also report that Lopez had a package of “Medicated Nerds ropes” that were labelled as containing 400mg of THC per rope.

Lopez told police his girlfriend was licenced to possess medical marijuana due to a cancer diagnosis.

Police arrested Lopez and found a small bag of cocaine on his person.

He faces charges of possession of cocaine and possession of a controlled substance.
