South Africa will co-host the 2027 Cricket World Cup, along with Namibia and Zimbabwe. This will be the first time Namibia plays a role in hosting an international cricket tournament.

South Africa previously co-hosted the 2003 World Cup with Zimbabwe and Kenya and also hosted the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the game’s global governing body. It also revealed the hosts for the sport’s international tournaments for the rest of the decade.

In a first the USA will co-host the 2024 T20 World Cup with the West Indies. 

Pakistan will also host an international tournament for the first time in decades, being given the Champions Trophy of 2025.

India and Sri Lanka will host the 2026 T20 World Cup. India will also host the 2029 Champions Trophy and co-host the 2031 World Cup with Bangladesh in 2031.

The other hosts announced were Australia and New Zealand which get the 2028 T20 World Cup, and England, Scotland, and Ireland, which will be hosting the World Cup in 2030.
