A hidden 9-metre-long corridor has been discovered in the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt.

The discovery was made after a series of non-invasive scans of the pyramids, that have been ongoing since 2015, to find new aspects of the pyramids without damaging the ancient structures. Experts believe the discovery could contribute to our understanding of how the pyramids were constructed.

The Great Pyramid was built in 2560 BC during the reign of the Pharaoh Khufu. For thousands of years it remained the tallest structure on earth until the construction of the Eiffel Tower in 1889.
