South Africa has been named the best country in the world to visit.

This was according to a survey conducted by a British newspaper, The Telegraph.

In the announcement of South Africa’s status, the newspaper lauded South Africa’s natural beauty, calling Cape Town ‘a supermodel at the foot of Table Mountain’ and speaking of the scenery of the Drakensberg and the Garden Route. It also praised the Kruger National Park, saying it was a ‘roaring wildlife zone’.

Two other African countries were in the top ten, according to The Telegraph. These were Kenya at 7th and Botswana at 10th.

The other countries in the Top Ten were New Zealand, Japan, the Maldives, Australia, Italy, India, and Costa Rica.

Cape Town was named the best city in the world to visit. It was the only African city on that particular list.
