A flight from Japan to the United States had to return to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport after a flight attendant was assaulted by a passenger.
The passenger reportedly bit her.
The ANA flight carrying 159 passengers was at the time over the Pacific Ocean. The assailant, identified only as a 55-year-old American and ‘heavily intoxicated’, was handed over to police.
The man claimed to have taken a sleeping pill and said that he could not recall the incident.
