Amazon, the global online retail behemoth, is now officially operating in South Africa.
The site, amazon.co.za, officially went live yesterday (Tuesday).
Amazon Web Services has been operating in South Africa for some time, but this is the first time its e-commerce arm is live in South Africa.
Amazon is expected to provide stiff competition to local online retailers, such as Takealot and Loot.
