Oasis, the British rock band, has announced that it will be reforming and embarking on a tour next year.

The Mancunian band was one of the biggest acts of the 1990s and 2000s, with hits such as Wonderwall, Dont Look Back in Anger, and Champagne Supernova. It had also been one of the leading “Britpop” acts, along with Blur, Suede, and Pulp.

The band was also known for the prickly relationship between two of its founding members, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, which largely led to Oasis breaking up in 2009.

However, it now seems that the Gallaghers have reconciled, with the band announcing it will be putting on a fourteen-day tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland. As it stands, Oasis will be playing in Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, Manchester, and Dublin. Tickets are due to go on sale on 31 August.

There are reportedly plans for the band to tour outside the British Isles, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

A press release from the band said: “There has been no great revelatory moment that has ignited the reunion – just the gradual realisation that the time is right.”
