Israel has qualified for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, the pan-European singing competition. It is due to be held tonight.
However, the performance of Yuval Raphael, the Israeli representative, was disrupted in the semifinal show on Thursday in Basel, Switzerland, when six people carrying oversized Palestinian flags and blowing whistles attempted to interrupt her performance.
The participation of Israel has been questioned by a number of European broadcasters, and there have been several small anti-Israel protests organised in Basel in recent days.
Raphael is currently a favourite to win, according to bookmakers.
Israel has won the competition four times, the most recent win being by the singer, Netta, in 2018.
