In the face of severe budget constraints, the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development is looking to approach companies to help fix some of its crumbling court buildings.

So says Mmamoloko Kubayi, the minister responsible for the Department.

Speaking on radio on Wednesday, the minister said this followed advice from the finance minister. She said that around R1.6 billion would be needed for the necessary work, but only around R400 million had been provided in the budget for this purpose.

The finance minister had also advised the Department to improve its project and resource- management capacity.
