A lingerie firm in Japan has repurposed its production to make masks to help combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to News24, Atsumi Fashion, based in Himi, had made the masks from material usually used to make bras. The masks had originally been made as a joke, but were soon sold out. Initially 250 masks had been made by cutting 125 bras in half.
After the sell-out, the company decided to ramp up production, offering masks in different colours and different kinds of material. Each mask retails at about R260.
