A Florida man was charged last Tuesday after police said he allegedly shot at another driver for apparently throwing a piece of banana at his truck.
Police reports claim that the road-rage incident occurred between Peter Sala Jr. and Robert Lewis at around 8am on a highway in the Tampa Bay area. It is reported that after a heated argument between the two men, Sala Jr. drove past Lewis’s pickup truck and threw a piece of a banana at it, which struck the side of the truck.
Lewis ‘returned fire’ with his handgun, shattering Sala Jr.’s right front passenger window. Sala Jr. sustained a minor leg injury.
Lewis was released on bail after being charged with shooting a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle, and criminal mischief.
Sala Jr. was not charged with any banana-related crimes.
