Earlier this month media outlets reported that Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Greece would launch a three-way bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The three countries’ sports ministers met to finalize arrangements for a joint hosting of the world’s largest football event.
There has been strong support for the bid in Egypt, with Egyptians saying that all three countries had all the necessary infrastructure to successfully host the tournament.
Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Greece will be competing against a joint bid by Spain and Portugal as well as a South American bid by Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay.
