Florida resident Lily Rinker placed a call last week to the Police department in Stuart, Florida to report stolen items. Police arrived at the address she had given, which turned out to be a Best Western hotel, and upon arrival were given an account of the theft by Rinker.

Marijuana is only legal when prescribed for medical purposes in Florida.

Rinker said that she was “hanging out” with her “Friend”, a man identified only as Carlos, in the hotel room. She claimed she had $30 worth of marijuana in her grinder, but when Carlos left, she believed that half a gram had gone missing from the grinder.

Police asked Rinker to identify herself, and police discovered she had two outstanding warrants, one for missing a court hearing for criminal mischief and one for a probation violation hearing for her driving under the influence earlier in 2023.

Rinker was taken to the local jail and has been denied bail.
