The SA Post Office said on Wednesday that it has suspended mail service to Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. 

Despite halting service to the countries involved in the conflict, SA Post Office says air mail remained available to 33 countries and surface mail to 51 countries.

According to Wendy Knowler, consumer journalist, customers who order items from other countries should included their cellphone number with their address details so the SAPO is able to send them an SMS when the item is ready for collection.

In addition, customers who send items to other countries. Must make sure they don’t send anything that is not allowed in the mail, such as any arms, ammunition explosives, liquids or items that could leak or break. No plant or animal material must be sent to other countries.
