African Wildlife Economy Institute

The African Wildlife Economy Institute (AWEI) is a unit of the Faculty of AgriSciences at Stellenbosch University, dedicated to advancing research, policy, and practice that support an inclusive and sustainable wildlife economy across Africa. Conservation economist Dr Francis Vorhies is the founding director of AWEI, and is a Research Fellow at the Vinson Centre at the University of Buckingham. Dr Wiseman Ndlovu is AWEI’s Deputy Director and Dr Crespen Ndlovu is the Institute’s Development Officer.
